As I was saying in the last journal, it's been about two months since the last version of Geode (which I have since absentmindedly forgotten to release anything since then). Here's a list of some of the things coming.
Changelog (This is very much abridged...):
Blocks:
- Added NOT_Gate block
- Added pressure plate
- Turned the power source block into a switch block.
- Made electrical wires transfer electricity and autoconnect
- TNT explosions can now detonate other TNT
- Added spike block
- Added limestone.
- Added heated rock and mantle.
- Added uranium, platinum, zirconium, magnetite, and fire opal ore.
- Added shrubs.
- Added animation to the torch block.
- Added Universe Drill block (for a WIP).
- Added 'weird' blocks (also a WIP)
Items:
- Added copper armor
- Added copper and iron ingots
World generator:
- Added 'deep earth' containing limestone, heated rock, mantle, and rare ores.
- Added ore veins
- Added multiple-size cacti, some with cactus flowers
- Added desert pyramids
- Added signs, which spawn in forests containing random lore.
Mobs:
- Fixed mob AI consuming too much computing power
- Added dirt worm mob.
- Added NPC villagers.
Inventory
- The inventory is now scrollable.
- Added a hotbar GUI
- You can now re-arrange items in the inventory.
- Crafting GUI now has a background.
- Fixed crafting using up too many materials.
- Added armor slots.
Added world creation menu:
- You can enter details about the world, and use TAB, SHIFT+TAB, and Enter to navigate.
- Generate and Cancel buttons work now (an fyi for those of you who used a pre-release)
Added world load menu:
- Scrollable auto-detected list of worlds.
Multiplayer:
- For starters, it actually works again.
- Light data is sent from the server.
- Added colored text to chat.
- Added /kick and /ban.
General bugs:
- Fixed the horrid FPS lag (better render engine that culls block offscreen)
- Fixed world loading shadows and light improperly in saved worlds
- Fixed being able to hit main menu buttons while in-game
- Fixed cracks showing when "mining" air.
- Fixed block cracks showing at the wrong rate
- Fixed block cracks showing in the wrong place
- Fixed water and lava animations not showing in the inventory.
Other:
- Added /fill which adds 96 of nearly every block to your inventory.
- Added 'debug mode' toggled by pressing M (shows a box around mobs, displays FPS and coords, etc.)
- Added clouds.
- Upgraded storms.
